Annual race brings together runners, student-athletes and community partners to promote healthy lifestyles and support the Richmond Hill Miler Club.

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. — October 17, 2026 — Heartwood’s Fourth Annual Run for the Hill 5K is officially in the books, raising $15,000 to benefit the Richmond Hill Miler Club, a youth running initiative that encourages elementary students to build healthy habits through physical activity.

Mother Nature delivered a little more fall weather than anyone expected. What started as a comfortable morning quickly turned brisk as the wind picked up, creating the perfect backdrop for a morning of running, friendly competition and community spirit.

For the second consecutive year, Heartwood partnered with Richmond Hill High School’s Cross Country and Track & Field program to host the 5K in conjunction with the Richmond Hill Invitational. Together, the events brought runners, student-athletes, families and supporters to Heartwood for a morning centered on fitness and giving back.

“One of the things I appreciate most about this event is the incredible support we receive from the partners who help us build Heartwood every day,” says Paige Glazer, Real Estate Development Manager at Heartwood. “St. Joseph’s/Candler and Bē Health, RLC, Shoreline Landscape, Pulte, Benchmark, Coleman Company, Preserve and Novare Group are always right there alongside our development team, eager to help us bring ideas to life. And when those ideas benefit local kids, they never hesitate to step up. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and commitment to this community.”

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and participants, this year’s event raised $15,000 for the Miler Club, an initiative led by Richmond Hill High School’s Cross Country and Track & Field program that encourages elementary students to build healthy habits through running, jogging and walking during recess. The program has already engaged more than 3,200 students and logged over 14,500 miles, proving that a few laps at recess can add up to something remarkable.

At Heartwood, healthy living isn’t an afterthought. It’s part of the foundation of the community. From miles of trails and outdoor recreation to its partnership with St. Joseph’s/Candler through Bē Health, Heartwood is designed to make healthy choices a natural part of everyday life. Supporting programs like the Miler Club extends that philosophy beyond its neighborhoods and into the lives of the next generation.

“The Run for the Hill is a wonderful example of what can happen when our schools, businesses and community come together around a shared purpose,” adds Glazer. “We’re not just celebrating another successful race. We’re investing in the health and well-being of our children, and that’s something we’re proud to be part of.”

Heartwood extends its appreciation to every runner, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who helped make the fourth annual event a success and looks forward to continuing the tradition in 2027.
