RICHMOND HILL, GA (November 2023) – United Way of the Coastal Empire will host the 15th Annual Turkey Trot presented by SouthCoast Health on Thursday, November 23, at Daffin Park in Savannah. Everyone is invited to join in the Thanksgiving morning festivities, which include a Kids K, Diaper Dash, and a 4-mile Run/Walk.

Participants can come as they are or in Thanksgiving-themed costumes. The 4-mile Run/Walk race route starts at Daffin Park, loops through the beautiful Ardsley Park neighborhood, and ends up back at Daffin Park, where the post-race awards ceremony will take place.

Races
8:00 am – Kids K (0.62 mile, ages 10 & under)
8:15 am – Diaper Dash (40 yards/ 0.02 mile, ages 3 & under)
8:30 am – 4-mile Run/Walk

Registration
Online registration is open on United Way of the Coastal Empire’s website at https://uwce.org/turkey-trot. On-site registration will also be available the morning of the race from 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at Daffin Park.

Awards
• Top 3 overall males and females
• Top 3 males and females in each age group
• Additional awards: largest family, runner from farthest away, most senior, most junior, best costume

Proceeds from the event benefit the United Way Community Fund, improving lives throughout Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty Counties. Through the Community Fund, United Way funds 82 programs across 53 nonprofit organizations, which provide everything from literacy programs and job training to quality, affordable childcare, safety for survivors of abuse, mental health support, hot meals for seniors, emergency food and shelter, and more. The Community Fund also supports people in crisis directly through United Way’s 211 Information & Referral Service, County Service Centers, and volunteer efforts.
