(Richmond Hill, GA.) CURE Childhood Cancer, the only organization providing financial and emotional support to local children and families while raising funds to further critical research specifically for pediatric oncology, has received a generous contribution of $30,000 from Sommers Oil. This significant donation was presented at the renowned Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah, where CURE provides support to patients and families facing the difficult journey of a child’s cancer diagnosis.
The Giving Pump was a two-month promotion as part of the nationwide Force for Good campaign by Shell Oil Co. This initiative raised awareness and funded nonprofit organizations by allocating a portion of sales to a selected charity. Thanks to the efforts of Sommers Oil Co., The Giving Pump was made available in the Lowcountry and South Georgia area, and the chosen beneficiary was CURE Childhood Cancer.

Last year, the program significantly increased its presence, going from just seven to over 40 participating pumps in Georgia and South Carolina. This expansion yielded an impressive amount, raising close to $30,000 for CURE.
Georgia Giving Pumps were available at various Shell stations across the state, including Brunswick, Eatonton, Midway, Metter, Pooler, Riceboro, Rincon, Richmond Hill and Savannah. Similarly, South Carolina also had participating Giving Pump Shell stations located in Aiken, Beaufort, Bluffton, Columbia, Elgin, Hardeeville, Hilton Head, Johnston, Lexington, Moncks Corner, Ridgeland, Summerville, Swansea and Walterboro.
