Friends In the Garden Wellness Ministry receives $5,000 McDonald’s Golden Grant

WHO: The 2023 McDonald’s Golden Grants program awards $5,000 to Friends In the Garden Wellness Ministry’s “Watermelon Wellness Bar” project.

WHAT: McDonald’s Owner/Operator, Jill Stanberry, will present a check to the 2023 Golden Grants program winner, Julie Anne Lohr from Friends In the Garden. The Watermelon Wellness Bar will utilize this grant to partner with Richmond Hill High School’s Agriculture Club for the growing and harvesting of the watermelon crop. This project will bring students together in the garden rather than over the screens of their cell phones.
