SAVANNAH, GA – United Way of the Coastal Empire will hold Read United Day on Friday, January 26, across Bryan, Effingham, and Liberty counties, and then again on Friday, February 2, in Chatham County. On Read United Day, United Way volunteers and community leaders will read and give books to thousands of Pre-K through 2nd-grade students.
Read United is a year-round series of programs to improve early language and literacy for all children across the region. Read United Day is the most visible of these programs when sponsors and donors make it possible for United Way to place a new book in the home of Pre-K through 2nd-grade students across UWCE’s service area.
*Media is encouraged and invited to cover Read United Day. Please see the locations and times below. (Note: Read United Day details for Chatham County will take place on Friday, Feb 2, and will be sent out in a separate media alert.)
